IRISH & SCOTTISH FOLK

English

“Táin” means “raid” in Gaelic. And their concerts feel a bit like one. In a positive sense.
Without wasting many words, they dive into the world of Irish and Scottish tunes with a lot of energy and virtuosity, which immediately captivate the audience.
There is something magical about these melodies, which have often been passed down for many generations. Hardly any other style of music attracts such a wide audience.
These melodies sound like joy of life and lightness. Every now and then seasoned with a pleasant pinch of longing and melancholy.
They carry the vastness that we enjoy standing on cliffs. And let us feel the power of stormy sea winds and the wild nature of the Highlands.
Táin is made up of 4 musicians from the Bern region, who have been passionate about folk music for many years and have performed it in different formations.
Thom Freiburghaus and Larsen Genovese play these magical melodies with a lot of passion and concentration with various bagpipes, flutes and violin, Mirjam Gosteli spices them up with fiery percussion and Silas Bitterli frames them with powerful guitar and every now and then he sings a song with his unique voice .
Songs about sailors, broken hearts and wild thyme…
It’s a musical attack of a very special kind. One that makes you happy and entices you to dance. And it fuels the desire to immediately buy a train ticket to the north. Or to attend the next concert that catapults you there.
